[Wichita-SCCA] GOOD NEWS about Strother Field!

Hi all,

I stopped in at the Strother Field Authority building this morning and spoke directly with field manager Shawn McGrew.  He told me that the concrete in question was all at the north end of the field.  There will be no concrete demolition south of the fuel station .... for now.

Shawn went on to say that the same demolition in exchange for a grass surface process would eventually happen to the south end of the field where we run our events but that this would be at least five or six years away.

This is extremely good news for the Wichita Region SCCA in the short term but all is not sunshine and roses for the future.  Ultimately our access to Strother will disappear.  My hope is that our club will start searching for new site access with renewed focus.  The clock is ticking ...
