I think I missed the last Wail deadline, so I'll try to update everyone
here.
UPCOMING EVENTS
-------------------------
We have 2 Solo Events next month. June 1st at Yoder, and June 15th at
Hawker Beechcraft.
As always, we need volunteers for being Event Chairs.
TRAILER REPAIRS
----------------------
So far so good. I ripped the old floor out (I am very good at
demolition), and then Dave Geis and I went shopping for new flooring,
and then prepped the frame of the trailer. Then, last Sunday, Paul
Sherman joined us, as well as Lu Geis, to help cut the wood, and screw
it all down. We also added newer, wider shelving to the registration
and computer sections, so that we can have a little more room to work on.
We still have a little more to do to the floor, the shelves, the wiring,
and then the weather stripping around the windows, but I should be able
to knock that out this week. Then, at the end of the season, we will
decide on how to "cover" the flooring. Painting is one option, as well
as some kind of outdoor carpeting. Either way, we want to cover it up
to help it last a long time.
ADOPT-A-CONE
--------------------
If you hadn't heard, the club paid for 60 new (very much needed) cones.
I had an idea that I would get those cones adopted by the members, and
in turn, it would raise quite a bit of money for the Wichita Children's
Home. $300, in fact. Pay $5, and you earn the right to draw on your
cone, and that even includes the rental of a Sharpie. We've had some
great designs and artistic expressions. Even some minimalistic ones.
Here's the good news:
THERE ARE ONLY 8 CONES LEFT!
So, if you want to adopt a cone for sure, please let me know and I will
set them aside for you. Otherwise, I will be bringing the last ones to
the membership meeting next week, and I will be blocking the door so no
one can leave until they are all adopted. Again, the cones can't go
into service without ALL of them being adopted! My rule, sorry.
Those of you that took your cones home to decorate them, or for family
members to decorate, please remember to bring them back. Adoption
doesn't mean they need a place to live. They will be sad being away
from their brothers and sisters.
---------------------------
That's about it for now, I guess. If you have any questions, concerns,
ideas, or extra cash laying around, please feel free to let me know.

I went to a bookstore and asked the saleswoman, "Where's the self-help section?" She said if she told me, it would defeat the purpose.
