Yeah, the traction control is very intrusive. It is a strange feeling to
have the right pedal push your foot up! I still occasionally forget to turn
the ASR off, and it tells me on launch, so then I'm trying to find the
button while driving the course. Now that's distracting!
There are still good C4s out there for reasonable money. However, there are
also bad ones out there for a little less money. My old green one is being
rebuilt in Salina and will be up for sale sometime.
I have found it very challenging going from Miatas to the C4. With the Miata
on R-tires, I treated the right pedal nearly like an on/off switch. With the
C4, I seldom get the pedal to the floor on course, it's all about
modulation. And then, it's wider. I hit most cones on the right side,
because I am still searching for the real width.
Kevin, you are welcome to come to Salina and try my car sometime. I know
your solo schedule is pretty heavy in June, but consider this an open
invitation. Sunday's event was meant to be the last hurrah for my old
Kumhos, and I succeeded. My new ones have been on order for a while, and
probably won't be here in time for Mirror Khana.
