[Wichita-SCCA] Competition w/ other regions

With judges on a 10 point scale.
Very interesting, actually.
3 points: Speed
3 Points: Angle to the clipping point
3 Points: Line - yes, there actually is one. You have to watch a car on
course to understand that there really is a set up between
maneuvers/turns to get to the "clipping point" (apex). Just like Solo or
road racing.
1 point: crowd "wow" factor. Is of course the most subjective.
Most of the day is practice (run groups, no classes). Then two runs of
qualifications, highest run scores to qualify. Top 16 make the field,
then it is ladder elimination a-la drag racing. BTW: spin and you are
out. No take backs. That's it. Done. Finito. Definitely need to have
game face on and the psych game gets working pretty heavily the further
up the elimination rounds you go.
The SCCA rule set does not currently permit two cars in tandem
competition.

How is SCCA drift scored? Is it a timed event, but traction is
optional, or is it traditional drift scoring with judges?
Oh yea...Tsuchiya is the man :)

Thomas and I are very passionate about these 2 things and would love to
get them rolling!
Drift is a BIG deal, it's one of those 'bring your game face, or don't
come at all', very much like solo... although the afore mentioned bikni
thing is intresting..I don't think so..LoL
If you look up SCCA drift on youtube you'll see some excellent
drivers... you can also find the drift god... the man who can drift with
just about anything... Keiichi, if you've ever seen F&F Tokyo drift he
did all the the drifiting cars for the movie and drove most of them...
he is perfect in everything he does, if everything is not 100% he will
not step in the car.
That is exactly what we want... this is a very 'graceful' sport and the
last thing we want is some idiot screwing it up for everybody. We'd love
to get these things started and can use all the help we can get! Thanks
for all the input so far and let's make this happen!!
