[Wichita-SCCA] 05-06-07 Solo!

Well, if you missed the Solo yesterday at Strother Field, you missed an 
incredible event!  Paul Sherman and Dave Gird did an amazing job on 
designing a course that was really a lot of fun for all types of cars.  
We stayed dry all day as Wichita had storms, and although there was a 
lot of wind, it never interfered with the course or timers or anything.  
It just kept the temperatures down.

Since we didn't have as many people show up, everyone had 8 runs!  Yes, 
8.  I think I still only had 1 run that I was by myself, as I was 
offering rides to everyone, especially the new people. 

The WSU group brought out their FSAE car and had 3 drivers.  I'm not 
sure how much rubber they had left after all that.  Nick and James had 
an awesome battle going for FTD, switching the lead back and forth in 
the second heat, and Nick finally came away with it.  It was fun to watch.

We all gathered at Gambino's, but unfortunately, they can't sell beer on 
Sundays.  However, Greg Laws has a plan for the next Strother Field 
event, to have a get-together afterwards that would include Pizza and 
Beer.   I'll let him promote that idea before the next event, so keep 
that in mind.

The results will be posted as soon as David Guilliams can get them to 
me.  There are a few things that have changed or are different, so it 
may take a little longer than normal.

to some of the videos I have.  The top 2 are from yesterday.  If you 
have video links you want on there, feel free to send me the links, and 
I'll add them.
