Oh come on.  Greg's post about the changes to the list configuration can
hardly be considered promoting his region's event.
 
But on that topic, I'm sure I won't change your mind but as far as I'm
concerned if other folks post info about their events on our list, it's
hardly a crime worthy of labeling it spam.  If we take the isolationist
stance and prohibit any information from outside our region then that
would have to include all of the KVRG and AVRG stuff also since
technically they aren't "Wichita SCCA".  Of course all of the MiDiv
stuff would get nixed because it's also SPAM.  Better just unsubscribe
all of the folks from outside the region as well, don't want their
prying eyes in our business, much less any info from outside our region.
Sorry all of you folks from the National office, you're not welcome here
anymore.
 
Here's reality.  Scheduling conflicts are going to happen.  When they
do, some people from our region might choose to run at the other
region's event, for any number of reasons.  If people from our region
consider that to be treason or disloyal then that's their problem.  It's
not like we're loosing money on a local event if we don't get a good
enough turnout (as opposed to the situation at HPT).  
 
But Bruce is right - some people would rather run on sites like HPT
because of the grippy surface, and others are quite happy running on the
loose surface at Raytheon.  In fact, there might even be some of the
later types in the KS region or other regions.  So in order to inform
them that we have a fantastic large site with lots of loose "sand" on
the surface and that they may choose to run on our site instead of the
HPT surface we'd have to let them know somehow.  If we don't inform
those people (wherever they may be) then we can't really hope for them
to show up. So, would posting an informational message on their lists
about our event be considered wrong if we're trying to inform those
folks who want more of a "rallycross" experience?

Using another regions list to romoting an event on top of the home lists
event = bad = spam...
