[Wichita-SCCA] Thanks Bryan, Jason, Dave, and Lu!

For my small part, You are welcome. You know, I've been around SCCA
autocross for 9 or so years and it still amazes me, anytime I've had a car
problem, someone's there to offer assistance and/or a car to compete in. We
all need to remember that this is what makes autocrossing that much more
enjoyable.

An update on my Vette's travails:

The other driver's insurance company has taken full liability for the
accident. I got a call from Auto Craft and they say the rim has been redone
and alignment has been done (to my specs. no less). The estimate is now up
to $7000.00! Should go to paint mid week (if all parts are in) and the
whole car should be done end of next week.

Bryan (may actually have a play car again, someday) Jones

Subject: [Wichita-SCCA] Thanks Bryan, Jason, Dave, and Lu!

I have to make a couple of HUGE thank you's to some people who have
helped me out over this past week.

First of all, thanks to Bryan Jones for letting me come over, peruse the
service manual for the corvette, and then open your hood up to actually
see what was wrong with mine. My condolences are with you in your time
of grief as you rebuild your friend after a careless driver re-arranged
your front end. Thank you, Bryan.

Second was Jason Whitted, for his knowledge, expertise, and eventually
his O'Reilly parts. Jason was extremely helpful in figuring out how to
take everything apart, and put everything back together again (without
having left over stuff). He took time out of his day to help figure out
the brakes on a 13 year old car, and then when extra parts were needed
that weren't part of the original plan, he found them, and had them sent
to the closest O'Reilly's for pick up. Thank you, Jason.

Last, but certain the most important, was Dave Geis. He opened up his
garage and tool boxes to a clumsy, ignorant newbie mechanic, and held my
hand for 5 hours while I changed brake pads/rotors/brake fluid. (And I
have to tell you that it's really hard to work on a car when someone is
holding your hand.) No, really, he ended up doing more work than I
intended him to do, because the job was more involved than first
imagined. (If you can believe that working on a car didn't go as
planned). Also thanks to Lu, who stood by strong with a beer in one
hand and brake fluid in the other, topping off the reservoir (hopefully
not with bud light) as we needed it. So a HUGE thank you to Dave and Lu!

My most sincere gratitude to everyone who helped me this week. I can't
tell you how much I have been able to learn by watching/helping people
who know what they are doing.
