[Wichita-SCCA] BMW oil level?

Hey,

Was reading the letters section of this month's Car and Driver and saw 
something that's pretty hard to believe. It says that, starting with 
2006 models, the 3- series no longer have a dipstick to check oil 
levels. He was told, "the proper way to to check the oil is to return it 
to your BMW dealership and it will put the vehicle on a rack, drain the 
oil, measure it, and then reinstall the oil in the car."

He was also told by two dealers that "BMW doesn't want customers 
monkeying around under the hood."

Anybody have a newer 3-series that can confirm that they don't have a 
dipstick?!
