Too funny Greg, and it takes a big man to admit such in a public place. The
French car looked good yesterday and sounded good too.

Subject: [Wichita-SCCA] Had to laugh at myself

Hi all,

Had to laugh at myself last night. Over the years I had lowered the Phrog,
changed spring rates, adjusted shocks, messed with different alignment
settings, and so forth in search of the mythical "best" settings. Lately it
seems that I have hit a sweet spot with the handling. The car simply dances
and I am extremely happy with it but ... Well, I started thinking about
different changes that could be made to make it even better. Can't help it
- I'm addicted to tinkering.

Anyway, I pulled out the last wheel alignment computer printout sheet to
confirm the alignment specs that I was currently using, the ones that had
hit the "sweet spot". The printout was in a different format than I was
used to so I referred back to the factory settings for the standard format.
It was only then that I realized that I had managed to trial & error myself
back to the original factory alignment settings.

Yep, I have spent years proving that the Renault engineers -- the best
suspension engineers in the world at that time -- had it nailed right from
the start!

I guess that I'll just leave that part alone from now on. <laugh>

Enjoy,
Greg (I'll be quiet now) Laws
