That was just TOO MUCH FUN to be legal! Good job everyone!

My understanding is that Paul Sherman designed the course. It was a course with smooth flow and subtle challenges that used every available bit of the surface to produce times up near a full minute in most classes. Outstanding!

The heat was a concern but I think that most people came prepared -- except for last-minute entry Bob Cummins. Bob showed up in a spandex bicycle racing uniform complete with bicycle racing shoes that feature lock points on the soles for engaging the bike pedals -- not the best for car control. Reportedly he had just completed a 65 mile bike run and somehow ended up at the Wichita Greyhound Park. With a borrowed car and borrowed shoes (mine - we wear the same size) he worked 3rd heat and ran 4th.

The Phrog is a most happy amphibian now. The carburetor transplant proved to be a total success. For the first time ever the engine had TORQUE from idle to redline. The Holley may be great for drag racing and NASCAR but at least on this car the Rochester Dual Jet 2 works much better for autocrossing. The exhaust note is different and I love it when the secondary cuts in with that deep "Bawahhhh" sound like the old Quadrajets would make! <huge grin>

Enjoy,
Greg Laws
