Greg, sounds like you might want to try a Honda carb.  Not from a
motorcycle, my 85 accord had a 3-stage 3bbl.  At least it felt like 3
stages.  I'm not sure what CFM it pulls, but it made the 1.8 12-valve pull
pretty good.  And if one isn't enough, why not 2??
