[Wichita-SCCA] New Dallas race track

The new edition of Grassroots Motorsports says that Dallas, TX has a new road race track called Eagles Canyon. The article about it suggests that this is going to become a premier facility. While anything that promotes more road racing is a good thing in general, my guess is that this new track will suck race drivers away from our AVRG race days at Hallett.

Why is it that the midwest has so many road race tracks and so few SCCA road race drivers? Obviously those tracks wouldn't be built unless the builders expected to make a profit so the question then becomes: "If the tracks are not filling track days with SCCA racers then what groups are filling those track days in our stead? What are we missing in our attraction to road racers? Has the race environment changed while the SCCA hasn't?

Just random thoughts ...
