[Wichita-SCCA] Hallet AVRG April 14-15 and Topeka April 15th

The Ark Valley Race Group (AVRG), of which the Wichita Region is a member, is staging the Green Country Grand Prix Regional / National / IT Tour for the weekend of April 14-15.  There will be only two AVRG events at Hallett this year, the other being the Firecracker Regional/National/IT Tour on the June 30/July 1st weekend.  They will need plenty of volunteer workers to help on both events.  I want to work both events but there is a conflict for me concerning the first one.  

I want to be in Hallett both days April 14-15 but there is a solo event in Topeka on Sunday April 15th that I really need to attend as part of my push to (finally) accomplish something at the Nationals in September.  Fortunately for me it is entirely possible to work just one day (Sat or Sun) of the two at Hallett.  Therefore I will work Saturday at Hallett and then go straight to Topeka to stay overnight and be ready for the solo event at HPT on Sunday morning.  I encourage every Wichita member with even the slightest interest or curiosity in road racing to come to Hallett on one or both days of this rapidly approaching weekend to work in whatever capacity that you might be capable of.  Come prepared to camp out (they have excellent showers, rest rooms, & food available on site) or just commute.  It's less than two hours from Wichita.

Heck, I'll even pull out the loyalty card and play that.  These two AVRG events are an important part of the Wichita Region's activities and have provided significant financial support to the Region in the past.  We as a club need to jump in as a club to work together towards a successful event.  Besides, they always throw a cool party on Saturday night (which sadly I'll miss because I'll be on the road to Topeka).  If there is any way possible then please plan to be at Hallett to help work. Okay, I'm first going to Hallett and then to Topeka.  I'm pre-registered with the Phrog in FSP for April 15th at HPT and I'm looking forward to it with great anticipation.  This will be a chance to fine tune the Phrog's suspension setup on the National's surface with weather conditions that may emulate what we'll see during Nationals in late September.  

Besides that, the paddock will be off-pad.  This means that they have the use of the ENTIRE pad for the course.  I'm expecting a lengthy, challenging course.  This event is going to be a blast and, frankly, my cabin fever is about to explode anyway.  I feel the need to Solo!  

Pre-registration is available at www.myautoevents.com or you can sign up on site until 12:00 noon.  Currently they show 45 pre-registrations and are aiming at an event with 150-200 total entries.  This event should be considered a "must-do" for anyone thinking that they might go to Nationals this year.  Hope to see you there!
