[Wichita-SCCA] StL Divisional Results

Nope. It was the Phrog with co-driver Dan Marx from Springfield, ILL at the
helm. Dan and I are both members of the Renault Owners of America club and
he has been trying to run a LeCar in FSP for some years now. He's a heck of
a driver but the car just wasn't coming together. He's been wanting
(pleading) to drive the Phrog for most of those years and this was the year
that it happened.

I've got to say that it was helpful having Dan there because it forced me to
rise to the challenge. I was faster with him there then I would have been
without him. It had nothing to do with warm tires either. It was more a
matter of personal pride not to let him beat me. My pride is now pricked a
bit because he got me by .4 second on Sunday and then by .5 second on
Monday. He simply found an edge that I couldn't come up with. The Phrog
was at the top of its game with great grip and handling plus some decent
horsepower. I just wasn't smooth enough to deal with the higher cornering
speeds that it can now hit with the new suspension & tires. Frankly, my
mind just wasn't as quick as the car was.

I need some more seat time so I'll be at the Greyhound Park this Sunday.
Maybe I'll learn to deal better with the new, improved Phrog so as to give
Dan more of a challenge when he co-drives with me at the Nationals.
