I think that with the Divisional coming up, there is less demand to get
on the surface. Also, many of those that would come from out of the
region will be attending the Denver NT (since it's only 500 miles from
Topeka...)

Subject: [Wichita-SCCA] July 16th on National's surface at Topeka
Here's your shot at the National's surface with just a one-day
trip to Topeka. The Kansas Region is hosting a new event: THE KANSAS
REGION MO-KAN CHAMPIONSHIP AT HPT.
This event will be run as one of their local solos except that there
will be the opportunity for you to also compete as team of three
drivers. Repeat: YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE PART OF A TEAM but if you want
to then you can form a three member team to compete for a trophy and
bragging rights.
The team can be three drivers in their own cars, or three drivers in
one car, or any combination. The team competition is for overall best
PAX time so it doesn't matter if the cars are from different classes.
It's going to be a blast.
In any case this will be a chance to spend a day on the new National's
surface without the expense of overnight in a motel as is required for
a two-day event. Entry is capped at 200 but I don't think that the
Kansas Region has been very successful about advertising this event
since currently they have only 33 entries. Wichita's entries to date
are: Greg Laws, Hal Larcher, Rick Dodds, & Jeff Dodds.
Go to MyAutoEvents.com to register. Registration deadline is July
12th.
Enjoy,
Greg Laws
