Hmm, I guess my last one didn't work. I am new to email lists, so
please excuse any random emails from me to your personal addresses ;)
Robert,
Thanks for the link. I was really interested in that car and went to
go check it out last Thursday. The car was even better than described
and pictured, I offered well over blue book and outside of my price
range.... however, he had trade offered from someone else for a car
that was worth far more than that.
Greg,
Legends are great cars, my roommate at Mizzou had one. It would
definitely fit my criteria if it weren't FWD. Its just that in any
"Oh Shit!" situation I have been in, I have preferred my 240 to the
FWD cars I have driven.
Jason,
I think a 3 series might end up being my best option around here, its
just that I know so little about BMWs, and after taking a look under
that 540's hood, I see that BMW takes alot of creative, and incredibly
complicated approaches. I am trying to stay away from something that
will kill my time and wallet with repairs.
The 6 or 8 cylinder thing isn't a deal breaker. Its just that I need
something that will be able to pass on a 2 lane road, or be able to
accelerate into traffic from a clover leaf with about the same ability
as my POS 240sx.
Tom,
My old SL1 had metric fasteners, SAE fasteners, and even plastic
screws! Crazy Tennessee hillbillies indeed.
Brian,
Thanks for the heads up on the GS300, I'll check that out. I've
driven a WRX, it was quite fun... on gravel... sideways... I'll have
to check and see if those have fallen into my price range.
All,
Thanks for your help and suggestions, keep 'em coming. I'll read up
on BMWs and Subarus this week, and go down to Derby to check out those
cars.
Thanks,
Matt Miller
