Ok, thought I'd start a new email for the discussion about dial-up...
If you have Cox cable, I recommend checking into the high speed. It's
easy, and pretty reliable, and their service is good. They also have
discounts for multiple Cox installs (Digital Phone, Cable, Internet).
If you are not cox, and have satellite, your satellite provider probably
has some kind of option as well.
If you are neither of those, you can do a high speed phone connection
called DSL (not available in all areas). There are also regular phone
options that offer higher speeds for more cost.
Overall, Cox/Satellite/DSL are really nice because they don't tie up
phone lines and are always on.
As for the modems, most people buy them at Best Buy or somewhere,
instead of getting them through the companies, because they are usually
cheaper.
Is that enough info? Basically, you will get what you pay for in this.
If you want reliable, fast, easy connections, it will cost a little
more, but to me, it's worth it.
